Conference on good environmental practices in inland tourist accommodations <\/em><\/h3>\n

Last Friday 10th of May the University of Alicante<\/a> has offered the “Conference on Good Environmental Practices in Inland Tourist Accommodation” aimed at professionals of the sector and students at the Scientific Station Font Roja Natura UA \/CEMA.<\/span><\/p>\n

This conference is organised by Dr. Andreu Bonet<\/a>, coordinator of the Scientific Station Font Roja Natura UA and Dr. Victoriano Peir\u00f3<\/a> from the Department of Ecology of the University of Alicante.<\/p>\n

Sustainable Tourism<\/h2>\n

Masia La Mota has been committed from the beginning to sustainable tourism, which is why it always participates in this type of conference.<\/p>\n

It is important to raise awareness of the importance of actions aimed at good environmental management.<\/p>\n

The Hotel Rural Masia La Mota was the venue chosen to inaugurate the conference on good environmental practices in tourist accommodation. <\/span><\/p>\n

Indira Amaya de Ameglio, manager of Masia La Mota, gave the participants a tour of the facilities. An explanation was given regarding the recovery of cultural heritage, eco-sustainability and environmental measures that help to achieve sustainable tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Masia La Mota Rural Hotel uses management protocols for inland establishments and has already been awarded several distinctions, including the Parc Natural Brand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our manager Indira Amaya has listed the environmental measures carried out at Masia La Mota. <\/span><\/p>\n

Measures we put into practice that help to conserve the environment:<\/em><\/h3>\n

1. Waste separation<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Lighting using led technology<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Use of water resources for garden irrigation<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Waste water treatment plant<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Refillable dispensers as a waste reduction measure<\/p>\n

6. Linen and towel re-use programme<\/p>\n

7. Natural gas air-conditioning system<\/p>\n

8. Smoke-free hotel<\/p>\n

9. Room sanitisation using ozone cannon<\/p>\n

10. Swimming pool maintenance by electrolysis<\/p>\n

Masia La Mota has recently replaced the small bottles of amenities in the bathrooms with refillable dispensers as a measure to reduce waste.<\/p>\n

The attendees were able to learn first-hand about the evolution of the hotel project located in the Font Roja Natural Park.<\/p>\n

It was the perfect occasion to talk about the creation of a tourism product, based on respect for ecology and sustainability.<\/span><\/p>\n

The hotel offers activities such as hiking, walking and horse riding, all of which are compatible with respect for the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the charming rural hotel Masia La Mota its guests have the possibility of renting road, mountain or electric bicycles through the company Scott Concept from Alcoy<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The students were able to walk around the surroundings of the Hotel Rural Masia La Mota where you can appreciate the great potential that also has the oleotourism<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oleotourism is a rural tourism alternative in the area. This estate is taking advantage of the recovery of centuries-old olive groves and new plantations to produce extra virgin olive oil with the organic seal of the CAECV (Organic Agriculture Committee of the Valencian Community). <\/span><\/p>\n

Once this visit was over, the students were able to go to the Font Roja Natural Park to learn about the equipment for public use in natural spaces.<\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Victoriano Peir\u00f3 explained the manuals of good environmental practices and their application to hotel and catering projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day ended with a guided tour of the public ecotourism resources in the area surrounding the Font Roja Sanctuary.<\/span><\/p>\n
